Be Great In All You Do!

Pete's Blog

Who needs reminding that Xmas is just around the corner, is it early this year?

My thoughts are already on what to make that is not only healthy but nutritious, away from the traditional eat and blob meal. I will post some good ideas over the next month on www.cleanfood.nz

Recently I was at a Vegan event and thought I would get some info, so I asked the guests 3 questions and here are the top 2 answers:

Q. What is your favourite Vegan eatery
A. Sunflower Thai and Mimosa Café?
Q. What is your favourite Vegan product
A. Angel Cheeses and Almond Milk
Q. When you cook at home, what is the family favourite?
A. Curries and Vege Burgers

Maybe check these places and products out, if you have not before.

Water fasting

My Champion, Professor Arnold Ehrets  born 1866.

Revered as the father of naturopathy .

No pioneer, research doctor, dietitian or author has surpassed Ehrets work concerning the cause and cure of chronic disease and human illness. Through years of research he discovered that the human body is a “air-gas engine’ that is exclusively by oxygen and that diet consisting of starchless fruits and green leafy vegetables (mucusless foods) is the only food fit to be eaten by humans.

Notable important writings produced by  Ehrets include The Mucusless Diet  System and Rational fasting book which offer a methodical approach to eating that can be used regardless of age, gender, race or sickness to achieve superior health.

The Knowledge has been here for over 100  hundred years.

For self-healing of any disease  Ehrets used his own body as a test tube hasting up to 49 days and helped 1000 people from disease to health via fasting and a plant-based diet.

Which brings us to the question:

Q .   Why wasn’t this system promoted around the world?

A.    Because there is no $$$ in healthy people, would be my answer.

Sad but seems true at this time.

I have been using this system for 2 years. Fasting is not only powerful for the body but also the mind and spirit.

As a novice faster there are some things to know and follow.

#1 One must consume no food for at least 12 hours or more per day

#2 Stop eating between 7pm and 8pm

#3 Do not eat until 7am or 8am which should be fairly easy.

#4 Drink at least 2 litres of alkaline water every day

1 Day Water Fast: For 24 hours to 36 hours, pick a day where you aren’t chased by time, chores etc. This is particularly important at the start, as fasting will start to heal the body. Firstly it releases toxins that can cause headaches especially if you are also changing your diet (such as stopping the consumption of refined foods, sugar, white flour, coffee, dairy or meat).

After 3 months of 1 day fasting you may be ready to venture out to a 3 Day Water Fast. The first one of these that I did was a huge challenge. I had set aside 3 days off work to concentrate on myself and my fast.

If you have any diseases, conditions, concerns please consult a doctor to monitor your progress.

Intelligent fasting is important. If in doubt get advice. How you break your fast is equally important. You must break your fast with the correct food and drinks.

Lastly, the 7 Day Water Fast, you should only do this with guidance of a fasting coach.

I would love to guide you through the process. Please visit www.cleanfood.nz and drop me an e-mail at  pete@cleanfood.nz or we can have a chat on +64 021 618 384

In the meantime, feel free to check out my blog about the Sirt1 Longevity gene that can be switched on via fasting as well more of Arnold Ehret’s work.

Happy fasting – Pete

Why eat organics?

Your choice to eat organic food is one step closer to a healthier world. You not only will be helping support the earth but, by improving your own health, you will encourage others to do likewise.

Check out my blog and read more.

The Dirty Dozen is not only a Movie, it is the fruits and veges known to have the most toxins from sprays and fertilizer. The Dirty Dozen includes
Apples, Grapes
Celery, Spinach, Strawberries
Capsicums (peppers), Lettuce, Nectarines
Peaches, Cucumbers, Blueberries, and Potatoes

Even if you start by only buying these organics or growing these at home, your body will LOVE you for it.

My Star Plant of the week is Aloe Vera

Aloe is an antibiotic, antiviral, astringent, coagulating agent, pain inhibitor, growth stimulator, and antiparasitic.

Acemannan is a compound in Aloe that enhances the immune system. Also used as a bowel regulator soothing the intestinal tract and is known to relieve ulcers.

Externally it contains a wound hormone that helps the healing process of injured or burned surfaces, known to eliminate or reduce scars. All that from this wonderful plant that is very easy to grow indoors or out!

I cut a piece and put into my shake or juice. It is available in a concentrate drink, powdered, gel and juice
It is bitter by itself, this is from the high % of active ingredients. Avoid the Aloe drink that is packed with sugar.

Lastly, Aloe is one of a few plants that release oxygen at night rather than day time, so its a great plant to have as a pet inside along with bromeliads and orchids. Helping the oxygenate and clean the air whilst we sleep.

Hi I started my fast on the 25th of October I was 73 kgs.

Before starting my fast I went to the Colonic Hydrotherapy Clinic this is optional but recommended when fasting.

Every morning of the fast I had lemon and warm water then the rest of the week drank ionized alkaline ph9 water, around 3 to 4 litres a day. If I felt a little hungry I just had some water. Hey lots of trips to the toilet.

My weight: Dropped from 73 kgs day 1 to 65.8 day 7 and body fat from 16.4 to 13.7 it will normalize again over the next weeks.

I did continue my daily routine including stretching and exercise, all be it a little slower I was just being kind to the body .as it detoxified. Finishing my stretching on day 7, and I still managed 100 push ups.

Day 1 was easy.

Day 2 and 3 were euphoric I felt so good, sharp mind and lots of energy.

Days 4, 5, 6 continued in the same vein, no pooing for 6 days saves time and money LOL.

Day 7 The mind keep telling me go on eat something won’t matter if you miss one day 6 days is pretty good , not only once did it say this but over and over , but I was determined to make it all the way.

My first meal back, which is really important, was ½ kg of dried Organic Figs which are highly alkaline and help to purge the last toxins out. I also had a rather dry Coleslaw which we call the rake – as it passes through your body it rakes your intestinal track giving it a good clean.

The whole experience is strengthening for your whole being Physically, Mentally, and Spiritually
Allowing the body to not only detox but heal itself and possibly turning on our longevity gene.

The longevity gene is SIRT – 1 gene, it was noticed in Dutch survivors of the Nazi occupation of Holland during the 1940s. Now in their 90s and hundreds these people refuse to die and have very little disease. Scientist noticed that this gene had been turned on by the effects of starvation and or low calorie diets for prolonged period of time.

Now we know that keeping the blood sugar very low approximately below 4.9 and intermittent fasting tends to turn this gene on and it is protective for cardiovascular disease, cancer and diabetes.

Therefore, intermittent fasting can be beneficial in not only reducing blood sugar but in expressing this gene and its potential to reduce the occurrences of the modern diseases of ageing.

Interesting, guess I’m going to live to 100 plus and vitally, see you there!

For many years now food has been grown by spraying poisons on it to stop diseases, insect damage and to kill weeds. Washing and peeling our food no longer gets rid of these unwanted poisons because today’s sprays can’t be washed or peeled off. They are systemic. This means the poisons are inside the food also, not just on the outside. Peeling and washing no longer work. When we eat this food we ingest poisons.

The earth is suffering terribly from this way of farming and so are we. Waterways are becoming polluted and soils barren.

Cancer is on the increase.

What can we do about it?

How can we stop it?

Your choice to eat organic food is one step closer to a healthier world. You not only will be helping support the earth but by improving your own health you will encourage others to do likewise.

Can you afford it?

The question really is, can you afford not to?

You have the choice. Eating organic food means eating healthy balanced food produced from carefully nutured soil. Eating poisoned food means eating depleted food, ingesting poisons and abusing the earth in the process. In other words ignoring the consequences today and paying for them later, hoping later never comes. But it does.

We need healthy food to make us and keep us healthy. Organic food has more minerals, more enzymes, more vitality. It is nutritionally superior and it is not genetically engineered. Eating organic food means improved health, reduced medical bills and supplements, and a future for our children and the planet.

Try organic food – you will be amazed at the difference.

We were once told, “You know I’m not really into this organic stuff. Its just that your food tastes so good I buy it.” And it does.

Today we are facing even greater issues and decisions. Mankind has now reached a point of time in development where we must face and make decisions that will determine the very existence of our species. We can no longer continue to control, manipulate and abuse the environment without facing dire consequences that cannot be reversed.

As we sit at the crossroads we must decide whether we accept our humble place in this world and begin to work and live co-operatively with all things, including our environment, or whether we continue with our arrogant, dominate, destructive modes and the resulting consequences.

Organic farming depends on working in a way that respects and encourages all parts of the whole to work in unison. When a problem occurs this means something is out of balance and this is corrected by rebalancing the system.

Rutgers

Conventional farming works by finding the best way to reduce the workload and expenditure and increase the production and income. Consideration for the consumer and the environment is certainly secondary to these criteria, and usually only considered when it threatens or means reduced income. It is a farming practice that seeks to control and dominate the environment.

With the increasing awareness of environmental pollution and consumer resistance to food grown with chemicals, conventional farmers are looking for ways to resolve this. Rather than change their mode of thinking they continue to look for methods of control and disrespect of life forms. Genetic engineering is one such method.

Avoid being part of this worldwide experiment with its unknown and irreversible consequences. Choose to support and respect the environment and its people now, before it’s too late, and we have destroyed everything that was once held dear and precious, including ourselves.

Mankind now has the knowledge; but will we have wisdom to use this knowledge wisely to honour and enhance life instead of destroying it? Eating organically is definitely a step in the right direction, and if enough of us make this commitment, collectively we will make the difference.

At this stage all NZ’s organically produced food is GE-free. The only way it can remain so is if we do not introduce GMOs into our environment. Coexistence between organic and GE farming practices can only occur when a tolerance level of unintentional GE contamination is accepted.

Already many of our conventional foods contain GE ingredients. Organic foods do not. Unless of course they come from a country already growing GE crops such as America, where widespread GE contamination is now occurring and organic standards have been altered to allow for this.

So let’s make sure we keep NZ’s organic food 100% GE-free by showing our absolute commitment to preserving this country’s GE-free status, and let’s also preserve our health and the future or our nation by insisting on eating organics.
